Jake's Project

At Vermont Heartworks our mission is to generate acts of kindness within the community and the world at large.  In keeping with that spirit, Heartworks recently teamed up with the BBA community to help a much loved faculty member and her family.

“Jake’s Project” was conceived to fund the construction of a handicap accessible entrance with a lift and mudroom area in Jake’s Rupert residence.

Jake, who has been diagnosed with LGS, Lennox Gastaut Syndrome, suffers from multiple grand mal, and other seizures every day.  Jake’s treatment has made his mobility very unstable andhe is limited to a wheelchair. His family has not been eligible for assistance due to the rare type of illness.

We are thrilled to announce that our our goal of raising $23,000 has been met! A heartfelt Thank You to all of the donors, volunteers and participants of Running for Jake: "Four on the Fourth". This project would not have been possible without you.

Heartworks Update

We had a wonderful full moon hike in the beginning of February.  18 women showed up and we ventured around the mountain campus for over an hour.  Afterwards, we had a wonderful potluck and connected at the campus building.

We will do this again on March 5th   6:30pm

In North America, we often call the March full moon by the names of Sap Moon, Crow Moon, Worm Moon or Lenten Moon. But in recent years, we’ve also heard the term micro-moon to describe the year’s smallest full moon..

Meet at the Mountain campus parking lot – and we will snowshoe!
